Moonlight lampshade

The Moonlight lampshade is a handcrafted pendant lamp made from a Japanese-European paper blend combining mulberry bast from Awagami and locally sourced flax. This material connects two papermaking traditions while creating a subtle textured surface reminiscent of the night sky.

The paper is enriched with natural rubber, which increases its durability and abrasion resistance. The final lampshade is treated with Burnblock fire-retardant protection.

How is the lamp made?

Each sheet is handmade in Jasna’s paper mill located in the historic Továrna Mastných in Lomnice nad Popelkou. While the paper is still wet, water droplets are carefully applied onto the pulp surface, creating small crater-like textures that shape the distinctive pattern of each piece.

How can it be installed at home?

The lampshade is designed as a pendant light. It can be combined with a ceiling cable or with a plug-in cable with a switch. The lower part can be untied to adjust the amount of light passing through the shade. An LED bulb, max. 7 W, is recommended.
